The difference between stop valve and gate valve is the difference between gate valve and globe valve.
Nov 10, 2018

The gate valve is shorter than the globe valve, and the height is higher than the globe valve. The installation of the gate valve should pay attention to the height. This should be noted when the installation space is limited. The gate valve can be tightly closed with the sealing surface by the medium pressure so as to achieve the effect of not leaking. When opening and closing, the sealing surface of the valve core and seat always contacts and rubs against each other, so the sealing surface is easy to wear and tear. When the gate valve is close to closing, the pressure difference between the front and back of the pipeline is very large, which makes the wear of the sealing surface more serious.

The principle difference between globe valve and gate valve is that globe valve is ascending stem type, and the handwheel rotates and ascends along with the stem. The gate valve rotates by hand wheel and the valve stem moves upward. The flow rate varies, gate valves require full or full shut-off, and stop valves are not required. Globe valves have specified inlet and outlet directions; gate valves do not require import and export directions.
